A totally new walk for me which proved to be a walk where you ask yourself, why and how has this passed me by. In the middle of a severe and brutal lockdown where just getting by is a challenge in itself , this little jolly was a joy and easy to navigate. Parking is simple as it is at the cricket club / village hall with plenty of space that is safe, but has poo bins..Head away from the cricket pavilion to the far left hand side slipping through the hedge and turn immediate left..You will follow along the line of houses and bungalows and their neatly kept gardens and some fairly pleasant locals marvelling at the ginger warriors. At the end of the houses , turn right heading across the arable field (marked) to the stye criss here and carry on bearing towards the hedge..Go left at the next stye and then cross another 50yds turning right. Head to the single track through the disused railway copse and from here, turn right towards farm fields. Please be aware that there are likely to be sheep about but they will be away in the fields, stick to the bridleways through the empty farm buildings and beyond and you will be fine. There are plenty of bridleways to walk along and what we did was to head out 45mins or so, looping around the arable fields to the left coming back on ourselves tracking back the way we came..The beauty of this is that there is water en route, a small lake for a dip and open fields to stretch the legs..You may come across the odd farmer so please listen to what they say and respect the area.We haven't had any issues here.
A lovely walk well worth a visit.
