Well that was a year wasn't it? A year that was surreal to the Nth degree. I was so looking forward to start of the year with my left knee due to be replaced with prospect of being 100% pain free after suffering for a few years. Spring and summer beckoned but sadly came to an abrupt end with Covid 19 lockdown #1. I don't know about you, but it was like it was meant to be, unbelievable azure blue skies, polution free and some halcyon days living outside with the kids and dogs frolicking in the warm sun. I managed to rest up the knee to come out fighting fit and raring to go. Our pub became the hub of the village with an extensively stocked shop in what was the restaurant which was great .The spirit of our little village shone brightly with everyone doing their bit to help, a little taste of golden days long gone. We built stuff,BBQd stuff, and did lots of ...stuff, teenagers sunbathed, dogs sunbathed, grown ups sunbathed. We walked on sunbaked ground, we saw Halos , we breathed in the wonderful fresh air And then, all of a sudden, we were back, glorious summer walks, grateful to see friendly faces and happy dogs . I'm sure the dogs felt the same, seeing their mates again after so long. The question was, could it go on, would it last, when was the second wave due. Sadly it came back, we were history again. But of course we live in.hope , we stay positive. We've had very small sips of freedom, happiness and joy being out and about. Covid is nasty , there's no denying that but we've gone full circle with spring tantalisingly close, the vacine can't come soon enough. Let's hope it's not too long before we are back out, the bluebells in April and May would be a great start. I looked back through my pics and it was a year ago to the day that I cut my grass for the first time in the 20's. Stay safe people.
